Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody

I'm a little late on this one, but for those who haven't seen this, it's pretty amazing. There's something about Muppets and Queen that goes extremely well together, to the point where I'm thinking this has been overdue for about 25 years. Anyway, enjoy.

Wow. If YouTube were an actual physical place, it would be the strangest place in the whole frickin' universe. For a long time, I used it primarily to enjoy many a bizarre and disjointed rant, poorly produced commercials, and videos of Dragonball Z clips set to Linkin Park jams. But all of that pales in comparison to these ruff riders for Christ:

If Jesus Christ truly is the son of God and author of all things within the human sphere of existence, then surely, this video is the reason he invented the phrase, "what the ****?"

In summary, we are apparently to believe that this group of young street toughs are capable of riding rough (as evidenced by the police sirens, the sfx of gunshots and shell casings hitting the pavement, and their baggy attire oozing street cred) , but not tolerating heterosexual public displays of affection. Baffling.

In case you're not as obsessive about keeping up with the semiotic language of TV commercials or the disgusting condiments they attempt to sell, let me catch you up: several months ago, Miracle Whip - the inedible shit found in salads and sandwiches prepared by people with severely impaired taste buds - introduced their "Don't be so Mayo" ad campaign, which features a group of fun-loving youths dancing on a rooftop, laughing, and enjoying sandwiches made with the tangy zip of Miracle Whip and, I can only assume, some kind of amphetamine cocktail.
A somewhat laughable attempt to associate it's brand with fun and youthful rebellion, the campaign did a fantastic job of mocking itself without the aid of a comedic professional. That didn't stop Stephen Colbert.

Chris Brown doesn't know when to quit

If you looked up "Violent no-talent douche with a raging sense of entitlement" in the dictionary, you wouldn't find anything, because it's not a recognized term per se. However, I think most rational people would agree that it if were ever added, Chris Brown's photograph would be the most adequate inclusion.
After ex-punching-bag Rihanna's interview excerpt on Good Morning America, Brown reacted to her graphic description of the beating he gave her by issuing the following statement.

While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8th, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us.

Obviously, there are a number of jokes in poor taste that one could make at this. What is most important and notable here is that it makes clear that his contrition is completely fake.  More than that, he does not understand that violence not a mistake for which you can make reparations, like accidentally crashing into someone's car. Of course, he has his supporters who would disagree. Aside from the legions of idiots who maintain the moronic stance that it was justified because she must have provoked him, those with vested financial interests in his future are working to promulgate the notion that contrition necessitates forgiveness. Mainly, I'm talking about MTV.

Disgusting. In addition to this, they've been playing his new video all week, prefaced by a montage of fans voicing their support for him.
The behavior of domestic abusers often conforms to a well-known pattern: they express deep regret after an incident, mainly out of the same fear and need to control the situation that drove them to violence. The point is that he is not really said, and MTV is implicitly suggesting that half-hearted apologies are enough to earn forgiveness for a sociopath.
I realize how stupid it is of me to comment on this and wish Chris Brown would go away forever (I honestly don't care for Rihanna's music either), but I'm confident he will. I just wish he'd do so more quietly, and take MTV with him.
